The Opening Night of BREATHE is the first ever outing for a new song, story and spoken word work-in-progress by acclaimed Scottish songwriter and folk singer Karine Polwart. This intimate, moving and thought-provoking 50-minute piece combines flight science, Celtic and Nordic weather myths and ancient bird lore into a poetic meditation upon empathy, belonging and ecological sustainability. In a night of two halves, Karine will also perform a solo acoustic set of songs that resonate with the festival’s theme of breath and wind.
